WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You will be responsible for leading development activities of innovative applications, working alongside other developers and designers, and collaborating closely with our customers and stakeholders. A commitment to collaborative problem-solving, well design solutions, and high code quality is essential.

Your key responsibilities include designing software architecture and leading development efforts. You will be working primarily as part of our Vancouver location, but from time to time may team up with our teams in Finland and Sweden.

Responsibilities:

• Work hand in hand with our Product Owners, and Design and QA leads to coordinate and lead project teams
• Lead, coordinate, execute, and measure software development activities
• Evaluate, implement, and encourage software development best practices
• Design, document, and execute solution architectures
• Provide coaching and mentoring to our intermediate and junior software developers
• Collaborate with the client's technical team, stakeholders, and decision-makers
• Participate in sales engineering, including estimation and technical proposals

Skills & Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in fullstack web application development
• Expert knowledge of React as well as its ecosystem of tools and libraries, including Redux Toolkit, Jest, Enzyme, and MUI or similar component libraries
• Experience with React Native, NextJS, Gatsby, and other Javascript-based frameworks
• Experience building backend, cloud-based services, functions, and APIs (GraphQL and REST) using Node or .NET on Amazon Web Services (Amplify, Lambda, AppSync, EC2, etc), MS Azure, Netlify, or other similar cloud offerings
• Experience implementing user interfaces, turning beautiful designs into pixel perfect component libraries, screens and pages with HTML5, CSS and StyleSheets, and preprocessors such as LESS and SASS
• Experience modeling data solutions with RDBMS and NoSQL databases
  
• Excellent communications skills, with the ability to collaborate well with both technical and non-technical audiences, and comfortable presenting to clients
• Experience with turning system requirements into a solution design, and a resulting set of epics and user stories. Can fill in as a technical product owner if we're in a pinch. 
• Comfortable writing technical specifications and documentation
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies particularly Agile / Scrum, and their tools and processes
• Experience working in and leading remote, distributed teams
• AI/ML, Microservices, and Serverless Architecture experience would be an asset
