We are growing! Digitalist North America is looking for a Strategist to join our Design team.

Our Vancouver office, established in 2016, is an end-to-end digital service agency rooted in Scandinavia. Our talented, artistic and geeky team boasts of 19 nationalities, forming a strong collective of knowledge, experience and diversity.

Our team in Stockholm specializes in Sustainable Packaging and Corporate Branding. Our Finnish teams, located in Helsinki, are champions of Customer Experience. Here in Vancouver, we focus on digital transformation and product development, including AI.

We are a team of Service Designers, UX Specialists, Motion and Visual Designers, Full-stack Developers, Machine learning Specialists and Project Managers that all work closely together. Regular collaboration with our Nordic peers brings a wide perspective and exciting new projects from a variety of clients.

Your role:

As a Design Strategist, you are first and foremost a team player. Our company’s success manifests through our design-driven and collaborative approach. That means designers are at the heart of every project and help bring ideas to life, from strategy to rollout. We believe in testing, failing, iterating and experimenting, helping you grow.

You ideally have 5+ years of experience in the design industry, live and breathe business and design strategy, and thrive in a fast-paced agency or consultancy environment.

  • You are able to translate people's needs and pains into tangible solutions.
  • You drive service visions and streamline customer experience strategies
  • You love ambiguous problems and are able to capture a clear and concise design strategy
  • You love to be challenged and enjoy adapting to new tasks and requirements
  • You are an excellent storyteller with strong empathy
  • You’re fuelled by feedback and collaboration, both on the receiving and providing end
  • You are data-driven and have examples of work grounded in insights about people and organizations. You’ve applied your skills to real-world human problems.

Your responsibilities:

  • Identify businesses needs and transform insights to design opportunities
  • Understand and drive the strategic value and business dynamics of an organization’s product or service
  • Interfacing with and leading clients throughout our design process
  • Work with our Sales, Marketing and Leadership team to accelerate business opportunities
  • You gather and process data through user research and present the results to the business stakeholders and product team
  • You create service blueprints and translate raw information to comprehensive customer journeys
  • You participate in peer reviews, whiteboarding sessions, mentoring, game time and lunch & learns :)


  • Industry experience in Service Design and User Experience Design

We’d love to see from you:

  • A portfolio (pdf or website) that reflects your personality, your skill level and motivations, conceptual thinking, as well as your experience implementing user insights
  • Proficiency with current design and collaboration tools such as Sketch, Figma, Abstract, Miro or similar.
